JEOL USA Electron Spin Resonance Spectrometry (ESR/EPR)
ESR measurements afford information about the existence of unpaired electrons, as well as quantities, type, nature, environment and behavior. ESR instruments provide the only means of selectively measuring free radicals non-destructively and in any sample phase gas, liquid or solid.
ESR is actively being applied in pharmaceutical and agricultural basic research, and is widely used for various applications such as production lines for semiconductors and coatings, as well as in clinical and medical fields, such as cancer diagnosis. With an ESR instrument, a static magnetic field and microwaves are used to observe the behavior of the unpaired electrons in the material being studied.
The study of the behavior of the electrons in a sample gives information about the condition of the sample. Help us write another book on this subject and reach those readers. Login to your personal dashboard for more detailed statistics on your publications. Edited by Ahmed M.

Downloaded: Introduction Electron paramagnetic resonance EPR is similar to the nuclear magnetic resonance NMR where both of them describe the case of resonance of an atomic particle as a result of high-frequency electromagnetic radiation absorption in the presence of external magnetic field.
What is EPR?
Basic concepts The electron, as a charged rotating particle, possesses a magnetic field which makes the electron appears as a minute magnet [ 1 ]. High-field high-frequency measurements Usually, EPR measurements are carried out at X-band and Q-band due to the instrumental availability, where conventional electromagnets can provide up to 1 Tesla. Different microwave bands and the corresponding magnetic field. More Print chapter.
